Create a Database
Create a new database within a database service.Body Parameters
Name of the database. Must be unique within the parent service.
Fully qualified name of the parent DatabaseService.
Human-readable display name for the database.
Description of the database in Markdown format.
Data retention period in ISO 8601 duration format (e.g.,
P365D).Array of owner references (users or teams) to assign to the database.
Fully qualified name of the domain to assign for governance purposes.
Array of classification tags to apply to the database.
Custom property values defined by your organization’s metadata schema.

Returns
Returns the created database object with all specified properties and system-generated fields.Response
Unique identifier for the database (UUID format).
Database name.
Fully qualified name in format
service.database.Human-readable display name.
Description of the database in Markdown format.
Reference to the parent database service.
Type of database service (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, PostgreSQL).
Data retention period in ISO 8601 duration format.
List of owners assigned to the database.
Fully qualified name of the assigned domain.
Classification tags applied to the database.
Custom property values defined by your organization’s metadata schema.
Version number for the entity (starts at 0.1).
Create or Update (PUT)
UsePUT /v1/databases instead of POST to perform an upsert. If a database with the same fullyQualifiedName already exists, it will be updated; otherwise, a new database is created. The request body is the same as POST.
PUT will not return a 409 conflict error if the entity already exists — it will update the existing entity instead.Bulk Create or Update (PUT)
UsePUT /v1/databases/bulk to create or update multiple databases in a single request. The request body is an array of create request objects.
